Student Spotlight: Leah

NuneatonTKD • January 30, 2020
Here at Nuneaton Taekwon-Do we're firm believers that Taekwon-Do is for everybody, regardless of age or ability. A club is nothing without it's members and every month we'll be introducing you to one of our students.

Our Student Spotlight for January 2020 is Leah, an 8th kup who trains in our Wednesday Beginner class.

Student Spotlight for January 2020

Name: Leah
Age: 11

Grade: 8th kup
 (yellow belt)

Started Taekwon-Do: 2018
From: Nuneaton

Why did you start Taekwon-Do?

It popped up on Instagram for my Nan and Nan thought I would enjoy it and I agreed.

What’s your favourite part of training?

I like focusing on strength and self-defence.  I also like doing leg changes!

What are you looking forward to next in Taekwon-Do?  What are your goals for 2020?

I would like to compete in my first tournament.

What piece of advice would you give to someone just starting out?

Don’t worry, it takes time and don’t worry if you don’t grade at first.

What would you like to do when you're older?

Be a teacher and teach others.

A word from our Instructor

"Leah and her mum Jenny were the first students to join us in our Wednesday Beginner classes!  We're really impressed with how Leah approaches her training - she's got a great attitude and always tries her best no matter what the task is.  Leah has had her challenges in Taekwon-Do but keeps on persevering and improves each and every class.  She's a great example for the other students."
