Nuneaton TKD Hosts the BTF National Umpire Course
Four of our students qualify as BTF National Umpires

On Sunday 31st May, we were proud to host the BTF National Umpire course at our dojang, with members of the British Taekwon-Do Federation travelling to Nuneaton to run the day.
Students taking part first had to complete a pre-learning assessment to test their theoretical knowledge of ITF tournament rules, before putting that knowledge into practice on the day with hands-on umpiring drills and live scenarios.
Well done to our students who took part and came away as newly qualified National Umpires:
- Adam Ehsan
- Leah Basey
- Sophie Cheneler
- Dayyan Mirza
Thank you also to Ms Violetta Harlow, V Dan, for her support throughout the course, and to our colour belts — Maryam, Sufyaan, Dexter, Tymon, Mario and Jenish — for stepping in as "competitors" on the day, helping give our new umpires real tournament scenarios to practise on.
Qualifying as a National Umpire is a fantastic achievement that adds real value both to our students' understanding of the sport and to Taekwon-Do tournaments across the country, where qualified officials are always in demand. We're extremely proud of everyone involved and grateful to the BTF for bringing the course to our dojang.
