When did you start training in Taekwon-Do?
In 2011 - I was 9 years old
Why did you start Taekwon-Do?
I watched my dad doing a Taekwon-Do competition and I wanted to have a go
What’s your favourite part of training?
Patterns - I like to compete in patterns because you get to show off the new skills you have learnt. I do also enjoy sparring.
What has been the hardest challenge you have had to overcome in Taekwon-Do?
My nerves about sparring, I’ve been trying to build my confidence in it.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Finishing college and going onto studying Sport at university. I want to study sport because I enjoy learning about sports and the functions within it.
What do you like to do outside Taekwon-Do?
Meeting up with my friends and going out for meals
What are your current Taekwon-Do goals?
To improve my sparring techniques for future competitions
Beth recently competed at the World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. Although she put in one of her best performances in both individual and team events, she was unfortunate this time but gained invaluable experience and will no doubt continue to improve.
How did you and your team do at the World Championships?
I thought our team did really well at the Worlds’ especially in team sparring against Korea (who are one of the best teams in the world) and in team patterns where we narrowly missed out against hosts Bulgaria.
