Congratulations to all of our students who competed in Ebbw Vale

Nuneaton Taekwondo medal winners

7 Competitors = 5x GoldšŸ„‡3x Silver🄈1x BronzešŸ„‰

It was an early start on Saturday 16th February for our 7 Nuneaton Taekwon-Do competitors. Leaving Nuneaton at 6.30 am, the team headed to Ebbw Vale in the Welsh Valleys for the BTF Junior & Veteran Championships .

It was the first competition for several of our students and the day got underway with our youngest members Felix and Emily competing in the pre-TKD events . Both students did extremely well in a large category with more experienced competitors. Felix and Emily performed Saju Jirugi (Four Directional Punching exercise), and competed in the Dragon's Tail and Power Pad events.

Next up was Noah competing in Yellow Belt Junior Patterns . After having won a round performing a technical Chon Ji, Noah unfortunately missed out on the medals this time but we are very proud of how he conducted himself on and off the mat.

In the Yellow and Green Belt category, Junior Nuneaton TKD member Lewis put up a fantastic performance to win Silver in the Patterns category . Lewis also competed in the sparring division and went on to win Silver in his category.

It was then the turn of our more experienced Nuneaton TKD team members. George Wright showing his technical expertise to progress through 3 rounds in the Junior Male Red Belt Patterns before winning Gold. We've been working hard on George's Choong Moo over the past few months and it's great to see his hard work pay off. George also competed in Sparring and came away with a Bronze in his category.

Our two ITF England competitors Ella Barnes and Bethany Frisby both medalled in their respective Patterns events with Ella taking home the Gold in Junior Female I Dan Patterns and Bethany Silver in the Junior Female II Dan Pattern category.

Ella continued her winning streak in the Blackbelt Lightweight Sparring to take Gold as did Bethany in the Blackbelt Middleweight Sparring Category .

Finishing up the day Bethany took to the mat for the Special Technique event, winning Gold for an excellent Twimyo Nopi Chagi (flying high kick).

Thanks to Miss N Williams for coaching on the day and Miss D Williams for umpiring.
