First Grading of the Year: Are You Ready?
Students have been invited to test for their next belt week commencing 21st January.
What happens during a grading?
During the grading students will be asked to demonstrate their ability and understanding of what they have learnt over the past 4 months in order to progress to the next belt level.
The grading is a formal test; in addition to demonstrating ability and knowledge of techniques, students are expected to show good etiquette and a thorough understanding of the Taekwon-Do theory. Although all of the grading syllabus is covered in class, we advise that students familiarise themselves with our syllabus; for the majority of our students this is our 10th Kup White Belt syllabus. This can be downloaded for free from our Facebook group or the Members' section of our website.
Who are the examiners?
The grading panel will consist of club instructors Ms Danielle Williams IV Dan and Ms Natalie Williams III Dan, assisted by senior grades. Students will be tested in small groups and will be asked to demonstrate: fundamental movements, patterns and asked a number of theory questions.
Can I watch?
Spectators are allowed in the grading hall, however we ask that they remain respectful of the testing and keep noise and distraction to a minimum. Photography and videoing of the grading is not permitted unless invited to do so by the instructors.
Are classes still on?
Please remember, normal classes are suspended on Monday 21st January and Friday 25th January however students wishing to make up a class are welcome to join the Wednesday 7:00 PM class.
In order to grade you need to ensure that your form, payment and licence books have been handed to the club instructors no later than Friday 19th January to enable us to complete all of the relevant paperwork beforehand. Failure to do so will mean that the student is unable to grade.
If you have any questions about the grading format or the syllabus please speak to one of the instructors as soon as possible.
