Important information regarding sparring equipment
So you want to start sparring? You're going to need some sparring equipment!
Sparring practice is an important part of Taekwon-Do training as it teaches students to use their techniques under pressure and tests whether they understand timing, distance and angles.
In order to spar in class, students need to own appropriate safety gear for their own and other students' safety. Sparring is not compulsory but is required if students wish to test from green belt (6th kup) and above.
We recommend students purchase either Bytomic
or Top Ten
brands as we have tested these extensively over the years and find them to offer good quality equipment that lasts.
Nuneaton Taekwon-Do are able to supply students with equipment at a competitive rate as we can take advantage of bulk rates with suppliers. Check out our Online Shop

Equipment must be in
red or blue only and any equipment not purchased via the club must be signed off by an instructor that it meets our minimum safety standards.
Equipment for Children and Juniors, aged 5 to 13
- Headguard
- Mouthguard
- Points gloves (not boxing gloves)
- Foot pads
- Shin pads
- Groin guard (males)
- Chest guard* (females)
Equipment for Teens and Adults, aged 14 and over

Congratulations to the those students that successfully graded on Sunday 30th November 2025 at the Dojang. An excellent standard, especially from our youngest students!
Nuneaton Taekwon-Do competitors excelled at the 2025 Birmingham Open in Nechells, topping the medal table with 9 gold, 12 silver and 4 bronze medals across Patterns, Sparring and Dragon's Tail events.
With only 4 competitors, Team Nuneaton TKD finished 12th out of 59 schools at the 2025 UKTA UK Open.
Nuneaton Taekwon-Do instructor Miss Danielle Williams becomes 2025 ITF Power Breaking World Champion in Jesolo, Italy, representing ITF England.
Congratulations to the those students that successfully graded on Sunday 31st August 2025 at the Dojang. An excellent standard in both practical and theory across the board.
ITF England secures 5th place at the 2025 EITF European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, with 7 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals across patterns, sparring, and breaking, with our Instructor Miss Danielle Williams serving on the coaching team.
