Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Awards Night on Saturday 25th January at the Weddington Club.
We hope you had a great time celebrating all of the hard work our students have put in over the year. It was great seeing everyone dressed to impress and who knew so many of you could sing!
As well as partying the night away, we presented our Annual Awards to recognise just some of the students who have worked hard this year.
Every year we celebrate the members who have worked hard and have demonstrated the tenets throughout the year. Congratulations to the following students:
Awarded to our most outstanding student of 2024
Our Senior Student of the Year for 2024 is Naisha Patel.
Naisha has always put in 100% effort to her training even whilst facing challenges outside of Taekwon-Do and studying for her A-Levels. She always excels at both the practical and theory parts of her training and is always ready to help other students.
Awarded to an outstanding student aged 14 and under
Our Junior Student of the Year for 2024 is Mandy Millet.
Mandy has consistently trained hard all year and has pushed herself to take part in many competitions and seminars to improve her Taekwon-Do. She trains hard each and every lesson and has a bright future in Taekwon-Do.
Awarded to an outstanding student on the Children’s syllabus
Our Child Student of the Year for 2024 is Aiden Limbu.
Without a doubt Aiden is amongst our most hardworking students and has impressed us at his gradings this year with a high standard not just for practical but also for his theory.
Awarded to the student who made consistent improvements in class this year
Our Most Improved Student of the Year for 2024 is Adam Ehsan.
Having achieved his blackbelt in 2023, Adam has continued to work hard and further develop his understanding of Taekwon-Do this year. He has made excellent improvements in both his technique and his understanding and approaches his training with hard work and focus.
Awarded to the student who gave an outstanding performance in competition this year
Our Competitor of the Year for 2024 is Jenish Thapaliya.
Jenish has trained hard throughout the year and entered his first tournament in October. In the UKTA UK Open he won a Silver in Patterns in a large Junior Boys Yellow belt division, before claiming a Gold in Sparring, landing a well timed jump back kick in the final.
Awarded to an outstanding student who displays hardwork and club spirit, chosen by their peers
Our Students' Student of the Year for 2024 is Leah Basey.
Congratulations to Leah who is our Students' Student for 2024. Leah has had a challenging year but has persevered to earn her Blackbelt and continues to approach her training with a positive and focused attitude.
