Learn authentic ITF Taekwon-Do
Taekwon-Do, sometimes seen written as Taekwondo or Tae Kwon Do, was developed in the 1940s and 50s in Korea by General Choi Hong Hi of the Korean army.
Translated literally, Taekwon-Do 태권도 means The Way of the Hand and Foot and is an unarmed form of self defence utilising kicks, punches and strikes. Traditional Taekwon-Do can initially look quite similar to other Martial Arts such as Karate or Kickboxing, at the start of class all students will line up in grade order before bowing in to the instructor, however it is a living breathing style and incorporates a modern scientific approach.
In a typical Taekwon-Do class you can expect to learn:
- Fundamental movements
- Patterns
- Sparring
- Self Defence,
- Power (board breaking)
At Nuneaton Taekwon-Do students can also expect to take part in fitness, strength and conditioning exercises, and flexibility training.

Our Taekwon-Do Classes
Children's Taekwon-Do
Ages 5 to 7
Every Thursday - 6:00 to 6.45 pm
Taekwon-Do is an excellent way to build confidence in children and introduce them to health and fitness.
Classes for our younger students focus on building a strong foundation of Taekwon-Do skills; challenging them both mentally and physically.
By participating in children’s classes at Nuneaton Taekwon-Do your child will not only develop their agility and coordination but also gain invaluable life skills such as discipline, focus and teamwork.
Junior Taekwon-Do
Ages 8 to 12
Every Monday & Friday - 7:00 to 8:00 pm
Nuneaton Taekwon-Do’s junior programme is designed to bring out the very best in our younger members, setting them up for lifelong success both inside and outside of the martial arts.
Whilst students will improve their physical fitness and develop practical self defence skills in our classes, Taekwon-Do training is also proven to instil confidence and encourage leadership abilities.
Adult Taekwon-Do
Ages 13+
Every Monday & Friday - 8:15 to 9:15 pm
Martial Arts are a great way to stay active and improve your overall health whilst challenging yourself to learn a new skill.
Our Adult classes cover all aspects of traditional Taekwon-Do including fundamental skills, patterns, sparring and self defence.
Students are supported to develop at their own pace and achieve their goals whether that be weight loss and fitness or simply to earn their next belt.
Family Taekwon-Do
Ages 8 to 65+
Every Wednesday & Thursday - 7:00 to 8:00 pm
Our Family Classes are the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with the family.
These classes cover the same syllabus as our regular Taekwon-Do classes but focus on promoting teamwork with entire families working together to get fitter, healthier, and learn valuable self defence skills.
Both parents and their children are encouraged to get active together and have fun whilst doing it.
